About Megan
Originally from the Peoria area, Megan has traveled the world performing, teaching and music directing. Returning back to the area in June 2026, Megan is excited to continue her musical journey.
Megan was the conductor of the prestigious Buckhead Girls Choir in Atlanta, Georgia, as well as several children’s’ choirs in New Delhi, India and Kona, Hawaii. She helped run theater programs in Hawaii, Georgia, India, Germany, and most recently, Tampa, Florida. Megan has been a music director at professional and community theaters across the country and has accompanied concerto competitions and theater productions around the world.
In addition to teaching and music directing, Megan can often be found on the stage singing, acting and dancing in theater shows including The Music Man (Marion), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Narrator), Next to Normal (Diana), Jesus Christ Superstar (Mary), and her personal favorite, Ava Peron in Evita. She also loves singing and playing in cabarets, and recently won “Best Cabaret Performance” by BroadwayWorld in Tampa.
Megan loves tailoring lessons to match each individual student’s preferences and styles. Some students might do better with a very structured, theory oriented lessons, while others would thrive with a more laid back approach. She does believe in having a firm rooting in theory and note reading, but the specific repertoire can vary drastically from student to student. One might focus on classical music, while another prefers to play Disney and pop songs. As long as you’re learning the theory and basics, the specific song choices can be very individual.
